I don’t know how it is by you, but here in New Jersey, we’ve entered what I think of as “fake spring.”
The sun is shining. The temperatures are marginally warmer. In comparison to the frigid, windy, snowy days we were experiencing just a week or so earlier, it feels downright balmy.
It won’t last.
But this morning, I put on a slightly less heavy winter jacket, put on my old-school headphones, blasted some folksy alterna-pop, and walked to my local cafe to meet up with a friend.
Sure, it was still chilly enough that every time I passed through a shady spot, I wished I had brought my winter hat with me. You know, the one with the big poof on top.
But I’ve just been so hungry for that warmer weather, I couldn’t help pretending. I even wore my sunglasses.
My deepest desire is that it will get warm enough for me to wear my even lighter jacket, the one that makes me feel super chic, but that’s also thin enough so that I don’t feel like a lumbering marshmallow.
What’s the one thing you’re looking forward to with the impending spring?
Or are you—gasp!—a lover of winter??
I’m looking forward to walks around my neighborhood -seeing the contagious smiles of my neighbors emerging from hibernation and the vibrant shades of green popping from the ground and trees.
